Our Building Redevelopment Supported by Wolfson Foundation and Mayor of London Funding

We are thrilled to announce that East London Advanced Technology Training (ELATT) will undergo significant redevelopment this summer, thanks to generous grants from the Wolfson Foundation and the Mayor of London. The combined funding will enhance our capacity to deliver quality, inclusive education and support to our diverse student body.

The Redevelopment Plan

The grants will be used to create a new training room that will enable us to accept an additional 20 Creative Digital Media Production students each year. This expansion addresses the growing demand for skills in the creative industries, providing more opportunities for young people to pursue careers in this dynamic sector.

In addition to the new training room, the redevelopment includes the creation of two private meeting rooms. These spaces will be dedicated to one-to-one support, recognising the individualised needs of our students. This enhancement aligns with our commitment to providing tailored educational experiences and support services that cater to the unique circumstances of each learner, promoting inclusive learning.

The Wolfson Foundation’s Role

The Wolfson Foundation is an independent charity with a focus on research and education. Its aim is to support civil society by investing in excellent projects in science, health, heritage, humanities and the arts.

Since it was established in 1955, some £1 billion (£2 billion in real terms) has been awarded to more than 14,000 projects throughout the UK, all on the basis of expert review. The Foundation has a particular focus on capital funding, supporting new builds, refurbishment and equipment.

Funding from the Mayor of London

We are also pleased to announce funding from the Mayor of London’s £10 million Skills for Londoners Capital Fund Round 3. This funding round is part of a broader initiative to enhance educational infrastructure across the city. The support from the Mayor of London will play a crucial role in realising our redevelopment plans, ensuring that we can offer state-of-the-art facilities to our students.

The Skills for Londoners Capital Fund aims to improve the quality and accessibility of education and skills training across London. By investing in institutions like ours, the fund helps to create learning environments that are equipped to meet the needs of both current and future students.

Broader Impact and Future Prospects

The redevelopment at ELATT is more than just a physical upgrade; it represents a strategic investment in the future of education and skills development in East London. By expanding our capacity and improving our facilities, we are poised to make a more significant impact on the local community, offering enhanced educational opportunities and support to a larger number of students.

As we continue to grow and adapt to the changing educational landscape, the support from the Wolfson Foundation and the Mayor of London will be instrumental in achieving our mission. The redevelopment project is a testament to the importance of investing in education infrastructure to foster growth, innovation, and excellence.

Our building redevelopment, supported by substantial grants from the Wolfson Foundation and the Mayor of London, marks a significant milestone in our journey. The new facilities will not only accommodate more students but also provide a conducive environment for personalised learning and support.
