Learn real job-search and workplace skills with a free, recognised qualification, built into every ELATT course in London.
Professional Development is a core part of every ELATT vocational programme. You don’t apply for it separately – from the start of your course, you’ll have dedicated employability sessions alongside your vocational learning, and you’ll work towards a nationally recognised Gateway Qualifications Award in Employability Skills.
The level you study at, Entry 3, Level 1 or Level 2, will be matched to your needs and English language level when you join. You’re welcome to let us know which level you’re aiming for, and we’ll take that into account alongside your initial assessment.
Across the programme you’ll cover topics including planning your career, researching and applying for jobs, writing a strong CV, interview skills, and the professional behaviours employers value. You’ll leave with both a qualification and the practical tools to use it.
You’ll be supported throughout by our dedicated Careers Service, with opportunities to speak to industry professionals, access mentoring, find volunteering placements, and gain work experience. When you’re ready to actively job, you can also apply for one-to-one support from one of our employability advisers.
Sessions are delivered online, in small groups, over 16 weeks, and are assessed through a portfolio of evidence rather than exams, so there’s no extra pressure alongside your main coursework. It’s included at no extra cost as part of your ELATT course.
If you don’t have prior experience, don’t worry!
We offer preparatory courses and support to help you build the foundational skills needed for Level 3.
Alongside your vocational course, you will also have the opportunity to earn additional free qualifications to strengthen your CV and employability. These are matched to your level and confirmed after a short skills assessment when you join. They may include Functional Skills English, Functional Skills Maths, Professional Development and Digital Skills. Not everyone will study all four. Your programme will be tailored to what you need.
