Introducing Project Elevate: Inspiring Future Aviation Careers

ELATT is proud to announce our latest STEM project, Project Elevate. Designed to ignite a passion for aviation among young people in Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and East London, this initiative aims to open doors to exciting aviation careers. With the generous support of the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority), Project Elevate marks another important step in our commitment to fostering educational opportunities within our vibrant community.

The Importance of Aviation in Today’s World

Aviation is an industry that continues to soar, offering a wealth of career opportunities in an ever-evolving global landscape. As the demand for skilled professionals in aviation and related STEM fields grows, it is crucial that we open new doors for young people—reaching young people who might not otherwise be aware of the opportunities available within the aviation sector, and engaging a broad audience to inspire the next generation. Project Elevate comes in here to spark the imagination—fueling interest in innovative technologies and real-life aviation advancements that drive the industry forward.

Project Elevate: An In-Depth Look

Project Elevate is set to deliver a dynamic and engaging programme that combines film screenings, story-telling and interactive sessions led by our students’ Aviation Film club. Using a similar approach to our previous successful Space in the Community project, students will select films, watch them together at Rich Mix, and benefit from insightful guest speaker sessions.

Industry experts, scientists, and employers will share their experiences and career opportunities, offering invaluable guidance to students and igniting their ambition to explore aviation further. In addition, students will engage in aviation and STEM-themed events and projects, developing tech and written materials, further broadening their horizons and skill sets.

Impact on Local Communities

At the heart of Project Elevate is a commitment to inspire underrepresented young students from Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and East London. In many of these communities, individuals often face socio-economic challenges and may not be aware of the range of opportunities available. By engaging these young people, we aim to broaden their horizons and empower them with the knowledge and confidence to explore exciting career paths in aviation and STEM fields.

Furthermore, by connecting students with mentors and role models, Project Elevate actively promotes social mobility. These mentors not only provide invaluable career guidance, but also serve as living proof that success is within reach. Through innovative educational activities, interactive events, and inspiring role models, the project will create tangible pathways for success, drive social mobility, and contribute to building a more inclusive, diverse, and forward-thinking local community.

Getting Involved, Next Steps & Conclusion

We invite you to stay tuned for further details about Project Elevate as the initiative unfolds. We are also calling on potential partners, particularly those from flight and tech companies, to join us as Sky Ambassadors. If you work in these sectors and would like to mentor our students, please get in touch.

Project Elevate represents more than just a STEM project—it embodies our vision of making London a city where everyone can flourish in their lives, no matter their background or circumstances.

Join us on this exciting journey to inspire the future of aviation and open up a world of career opportunities for the next generation.
