Design games, create digital content and build 3D worlds with our UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology. Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools, develop a standout portfolio, and take your first step towards a career in the fast-growing creative and digital industries.

If you’re passionate about games, media, design, music production or digital content creation, this course gives you the opportunity to turn your creativity into a future career. You’ll explore a wide range of creative disciplines, including game development, 3D modelling, graphic design, video production and audio production, building both technical skills and creative confidence.

In Year 1, you will develop core skills across different media areas. In Year 2 (Extended Diploma), you will specialise and work with cutting-edge technologies such as game design, Virtual Reality (VR), Unreal Engine and advanced 3D environments, alongside music production using BandLab and Logic Pro.

You’ll be taught by experienced tutors in a supportive learning environment and work on practical, project-based assignments that reflect real industry practice. Using industry tools such as Uptale, Blender, GDevelop, Unreal Engine, Adobe Creative Suite, BandLab and Logic Pro, you will create a professional portfolio showcasing your skills across multiple disciplines.

This course goes beyond the classroom. You will have opportunities to take part in creative projects, workshops, industry visits and work experience placements, helping you gain real-world insight and build valuable connections.

By the end of the course, you will have the skills, confidence and portfolio to progress to:

  • University (games design, media, digital arts, music production)
  • Apprenticeships in creative and digital industries
  • Entry-level roles or freelance creative work

If you don’t have prior experience, don’t worry!
We offer preparatory courses and support to help you build the foundational skills needed for Level 3.

Alongside your vocational course, you will also have the opportunity to earn additional free qualifications to strengthen your CV and employability. These are matched to your level and confirmed after a short skills assessment when you join. They may include Functional Skills English, Functional Skills Maths, Professional Development and Digital Skills. Not everyone will study all four. Your programme will be tailored to what you need.
