Course Overview

Get your journey to becoming a teacher off to the perfect start with ELATT’s new teacher training courses which are fully accredited by Gateway Qualifications. Our courses, which replace the PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) qualification, will give you a comprehensive introduction to the key components of teaching.

You will gain practical knowledge and skills and a qualification that will help you move into a career as an assessor, trainer, early career or part time teacher. You will learn all about:

  • the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
  • inclusive teaching and learning approaches
  • assessment of learners
  • facilitating learning and development for individuals
  • facilitating learning and development in groups
  • assessment principles and practices

This course will equip you with skills to work in schools or colleges supported by expert advice from an experienced teacher trainer. We also support you with career preparation including opportunities to speak to education professions and access mentoring, volunteering and work experience.

The course is tailored to you; meaning you can choose between the 12 week Level 3 award or the 24 week Level 4 certificate.

We’re here for you as the UK emerges from the coronavirus pandemic: our Sixth Form classes are now all face-to-face, and we’re offering a mix of online and in-class options for our adult courses. You’ll receive the same personalised support whichever way you study at ELATT.

Career Potential

The IT trainer field includes careers such as computer games developer with a starting salary of £20,000, rising to £40,000  over various roles.
